Candace Cave: How to Connect with Your Authentic Self - A Powerful Practice for Inner Peace

In my enlightening conversation with Candace Cave, a Senior Teacher Trainer of the Realization Process, we explored the transformative power of inhabiting our bodies to access the deepest parts of ourselves. Candace introduced the audience to a gentle yet profound exercise to shift from simply being aware of our hands to actually inhabiting them. This subtle shift illustrated the core of her work—learning to live from within, rather than hovering on the surface of our lives. By reconnecting to the body’s inner landscape, we begin to experience the stillness and presence that often get lost in the chaos of daily emotions and thoughts.

Candace explained how this embodiment work helps us access what she calls the “ground of being”—a still, unchanging part of ourselves that is shared with all living things. She emphasized that most of us live disconnected from this source, operating instead from mind, emotion, or trauma-driven reactions. Through regular practice, the Realization Process teaches us to inhabit the body fully, fostering grounded presence and honest self-expression even amid conflict or stress. This felt sense of wholeness allows us to respond authentically rather than react from old wounds or coping patterns.

Candace’s message was especially poignant: the key to lasting change isn’t forcing behavior but uncovering who we truly are beneath the layers. She encouraged everyone to visit her site, Non-Dual Embodiment, to try free guided practices and begin the journey inward. Her final words were a gentle invitation—to keep showing up, reclaiming a little more of ourselves with each practice, and finding the extraordinary in the ordinary act of being present.
