Blair Kaplan Venables: Overcoming Grief, Building Resilience, and Living Boldly
In a recent heart-centered conversation with Blair Kaplan Venables, I was reminded of the power of truth, vulnerability, and resilience. Blair, a returning summit speaker and guiding light in our community, shared from the depths of her lived experience — loss, grief, sobriety, and healing — to illuminate the path for others. As we reflected on the challenges of rounding out another year, Blair reminded us how easy it is to focus on what we didn’t do, instead of embracing the strength it takes to simply be present. Her insight that anxiety often stems from being stuck in the past or worrying about the future hit home, especially as so many of us strive to both process what has been and plan for what’s ahead.
Blair opened up about the profound grief she has endured — losing her parents, a miscarriage, almost losing her husband — and how it led her to a journey of deep healing. She spoke about growing up surrounded by anxiety and how it felt normal until she began doing the inner work to understand and break those cycles. Her healing process included traditional and non-traditional methods, from therapy to journaling, Reiki, and building daily rituals. Blair emphasized that while we cannot control everything, we can choose how we respond. That shift — from reactive to proactive — has allowed her to move through life with greater clarity and resilience, showing up with intention and grace.
As the conversation turned toward what's next, Blair shared her bold decision to retire from most of her PR agency work and instead step fully into her calling as a lighthouse for others. She continues to coach entrepreneurs on becoming thought leaders, but her primary mission now is rooted in service, authenticity, and helping others build resilience. Blair's journey is a beautiful reminder that transformation doesn’t happen overnight — it unfolds moment by moment, breath by breath. Whether it’s through staying present, choosing sobriety, or letting go of a former identity, she teaches us that healing is possible — and necessary — for stepping into the next chapter with purpose and peace.
